To the memory of Ken Kennedy The measure of a man is NOT always gleaned in his life span Not In his physical stature nor his financial status Nor his breadth of occupation The measure of a man is in his wairua… his spirituality. It is imbued In the softer measures, his descendant gifts from his tipuna It is In the warm heart of his beloved life partner Barbro It is In his the eyes of his children and how they bestride the world It is in his children’s children, Lilja, Harrison and Jensen and in the dimensions of sister sibling, whanaunga and friends These pearls …these gifts born of love and sharing… With those that he left behind That mourn his hurtful necessary leaving Those glowing, opalescent memories, whose recall Then in their turn become the legacy of the man… Ken Kennedy This I see as the true measure of this man
